Jim Harbaugh Dropped Perfect One-Liner About Chargers’ Philosophy to Win
Jim Harbaugh addressed the media on Thursday for the first time since taking over as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Following a successful nine-year tenure with the Michigan Wolverines that culminated in a national championship victory this season, Harbaugh was asked how he can get the Chargers back on a winning path going forward.
Harbaugh broke down his philosophy for the team, making clear that he’s looking to play hard-nosed, physical football.
“Humble and hungry. We’re gonna respect all of our opponents, and we’re gonna strive that we’re gonna earn their respect, and we’re gonna earn winning. A tough team, resilient team, relentless team. A physical team is what we’re going to aspire to be,” said Harbaugh.

“Don’t let the powder blues fool you,” he added, joking that the franchise’s beloved alternate uniforms won’t be indicative of the physical style of play he intends to bring to the team.
The Chargers have just one playoff appearance over the past five years, and haven’t won a game in the postseason since 2018. The team’s 5-12 record in ‘23 was its worst dating back to the ‘15 season, prompting the organization to turn to Harbaugh in order to help right the ship.
Although the team hasn’t done much winning of late, Harbaugh laid out the groundwork for how he plans to get Los Angeles on a path to success.
