1 bettor will win nearly $1 million if the Green Bay Packers win the NFC

The Green Bay Packers made the playoffs in Week 18 by beating the Chicago Bears, and followed up their surprise appearance by dominating the Dallas Cowboys on the road in a 48-32 win on wild-card weekend.

The Packers are 9.5-point underdogs on the road against the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.

One bettor is hoping Green Bay has at least one more upset left this season. The bettor, who goes by the name Pointsux on X, placed a series of futures bets on the Packers in November at Circa Sports in Las Vegas — and now stands to win nearly $1 million if Green Bay wins the NFC.

The bettor, a 30-something sports bettor who moved to Vegas in August from Florida, wagered $2,315 on the Packers to win the NFC at 215-1 on Nov. 6. Green Bay proceeded to lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 12, dropping the Packers’ NFC odds even further.

So, he placed a few more wagers at Circa:

  • $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 400-1 on Nov. 13
  • $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 385-1 on Nov. 13
  • $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 200-1 on Nov. 24

For The Win confirmed with Circa that all the wagers were authentic.

All told, he has $3,815 in wagers on Green Bay to win the NFC, which would win $990,225.

Why did he believe so much in the Packers?

“Circa had the highest futures odds on Green Bay at the time and when I compared it to what I had as the true value of the wager, I thought it was a good price,” the bettor told For The Win on Friday. “I’m not a Packers fan by nature, but I said, ‘Hey, let’s take a shot and see if we can hit it big.'”

The bettor said he has to work on Saturday, so likely won’t even be watching the Packers-49ers game. If Green Bay wins, he’d watch the NFC title game at a local casino. He’s also not planning on hedging at this point.

“As far as hedging goes, I’m not really hedging anything right now,” he told For The Win. “Packers No [to win NFC] is -1400 right now. If they beat the 49ers, at that point I’d look at hedging on the Lions or Bucs. If they end up winning, it’s life-changing money. If they lose, my life will pretty much stay the same.”

Can Green Bay pull off one more upset and get him one step closer?
