Bill Belichick's uncertain future is perfectly captured by the lowest total in 30 years for Jets-Patriots
If Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and New York Jets is Bill Belichick’s last as head coach of the Patriots, it’ll go down in the record books for more reasons than one.
The consensus total for the Week 18 divisional tilt has dipped below 30 points at 29.5, making it the first over/under to do so since 1993, according to Action Network’s Evan Abrams. If it closes under 30, it will be the lowest closing total since 1980.
The Jets-Patriots consensus over/under is now down to 29.5…
+ This is the first O/U to dip below 30 at any point since 1993.

It seems likely the total will close under 30, with it being down to 29 at several sportsbooks, including BetMGM.
It perfectly captures the reason for so much speculation around Belichick’s future with the team he’s led to six Super Bowl titles. At 4-12, these Patriots aren’t very good. Pair that with a bad Jets team and snow in the forecast, and you get an all-time low over/under.
According to reports, Belichick and Patriots team owner Robert Kraft are expected to meet soon to discuss the coach’s future.
