Washington and Michigan governors make a friendly wager on the CFP title game
It wouldn’t be a true College Football National Championship game without a fun bet between state politicians of the two teams involved.
The Michigan Wolverines are 5-point favorites against the Washington Huskies in Monday’s title game, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Washington Governor Jay Inslee made a friendly wager on the game’s winner.
“This has been a big Huskies season,” Gov. Inslee says in the YouTube video with some friendly trash talking. “I’m looking forward to closing it out.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Gov. Whitmer responds. “Michigan’s going to win this thing and I look forward to saying, ‘I told you so!'”
If the Wolverines are victorious, Whitmer will send a pack of Haze and Blue IPA from Bike Lake Brewing over to Inslee. If the Huskies prevail, Inslee will send a case of wine from Naches Heights Vineyard.
