John Harbaugh Jokes Ravens Are Preparing for Rough Conditions With Giant Hole in Sun

0

The vibes are immaculate surrounding coach John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens, who are in possession of home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

On Thursday, Harbaugh opened his press conference with a rather interesting quote after learning about a recent solar weather event from Ravens senior vice president of communications Chad Steele.

“Chad just informed me that there’s a massive hole in the sun,” Harbaugh said to reporters. “Did you hear about that? (There's) 60 Earths spitting out gamma rays.

“Does that mean we’re all going to be like Bruce Banner—Hulks? That’d be amazing.”

Harbaugh is seemingly referring to a massive coronal hole that opened up in the sun in December, which prompted a geomagnetic storm watch from the NOAA.

Having established the presence of solar weather on his radar, Harbaugh took a question from ESPN's Jamison Hensley about terrestrial weather conditions for Sunday's game between the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I guess it'd be a little colder with a hole in the sun, probably," he quipped. “We’re preparing for cold weather and rain and sleet and a grass field that’s probably going to be a little bit loose. We’re getting ready for that.”

The Harbaugh family has had some fun at the podium recently. Last week, Harbaugh’s brother Jim claimed Jesus would’ve been a five-star recruit in college football. A few days later, the younger Harbaugh led Michigan to a Rose Bowl victory over Alabama.
