Darren Aronofsky in Talks to Direct Dwayne Johnson in A24’s ‘Breakthrough’

Darren Aronofsky is in early talks to direct Dwayne Johnson in “Breakthrough” at A24.

According to the project’s logline: “In turn-of-the-millennium Southern California, an alienated young man comes under the influence of a motivational guru, whose intoxicating charm masks his morally questionable methods of manipulation and his own concealed darkness.”

Johnson is playing a supporting role in the film. He will next be seen in “The Smashing Machine,” also at A24.

A24 had no comment.
