Thomas Frank provides update on Yves Bissouma following recent disciplinary issue

0

Thomas Frank has revealed that Yves Bissouma will be part of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Burnley after he was omitted from the UEFA Super Cup clash for disciplinary reasons.

The Mali international did not travel to Udine for the Super Cup final against PSG, and it was confirmed by the Tottenham head coach in Italy that he had been left out due to a lack of discipline.

Frank explained that Bissouma had been late one too many times and had to face the consequences of not fulfilling his demands.

This is not the midfielder’s first transgression since his arrival at Spurs three years ago, and Tottenham fans have called for the club to cash in on Bissouma.

Yves Bissouma is available for selection vs Burnley

It looks like Frank is satisfied with how the 28-year-old responded to being left out of the Super Cup final against PSG.

The 51-year-old is gearing up for his first Premier League game as Tottenham head coach, and he has confirmed that Bissouma will be part of the squad to face Burnley.

When asked about the former Brighton man, Frank simply responded (via Tottenham’s official website): “Bissouma was a situation. I addressed it. There was a consequence. Bissouma will be in the squad tomorrow.”

This indicates Bissouma is not close to an exit

It has been reported since the start of the summer that Tottenham are trying to find a buyer for Bissouma, but the Lilywhites have not been successful so far.

With the midfielder having just a year left on his contract, it looks very likely that he will leave before the transfer window slams shut.

However, the fact that he will be part of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Burnley is a clear indication that a transfer is not close at the moment.
