David Ornstein reveals the word coming from Man City about Savinho’s future amid Tottenham interest
David Ornstein has revealed from a Manchester City perspective there is no change on Savinho’s future since they rejected Tottenham’s opening offer for the winger.
It was widely reported earlier this week that Tottenham’s £43m offer for Savinho was turned down by Man City.
It was subsequently claimed that Man City told Tottenham that Savinho is not for sale, and Pep Guardiola’s men consider the matter to be closed.
However, since then, several outlets have claimed that the Lilywhites have not given up on the Brazilian, with Spurs expected to return with a second offer for Savinho.
Man City are willing to sell Savinho for the right price
Ornstein has now revealed that his sources at City maintain that Tottenham’s enquiry for the 21-year-old was rebuffed, and talks went no further.
However, he adds that the Manchester club would be willing to cash in on the winger if Tottenham sufficiently increase their offer.
When asked about Savinho’s move to Spurs, Ornstein said on The Athletic FC podcast (via GiveMeSport): “Some conversations have been held that focused on a deal in the region of €50m. Clearly, Manchester City, if there’s going to be any departure, and I say that with a capital if, because the word coming from the Etihad is that there was an enquiry, it was rebuffed, and it’s going no further.
“But if they were to consider parting with him, it would take, evidently, a far higher number. Are Tottenham willing to stretch that far? If they are, then possibly there could be a deal.”
Savinho’s agent is on his way to London
There has been a big development this morning, which will give Tottenham fans optimism that the club can secure the Man City star.
According to reports, Savinho’s agent is on his way to England to negotiate the winger’s move to Tottenham.
Some sources have claimed that Savinho would have to push to leave Man City for Guardiola’s men to greenlight his move to Spurs.
