Thomas Frank reveals Tottenham player has not travelled for Super Cup final due to ‘disciplinary reasons’

Thomas Frank has offered a key update on injuries ahead of Tottenham’s UEFA Super Cup final showdown with Paris Saint-Germain, and has revealed that one member of his squad has not travelled due to ‘disciplinary reasons’

Tottenham Hotspur’s first competitive fixture of the 2025-26 campaign comes in the form of a cup final, as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup.

Thomas Frank will be eager to mark his first official match in charge with silverware, following a pre-season that produced mixed results, with Spurs winning and drawing games before a heavy 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich brought preparations to an abrupt low.

Frank had confirmed his 22-man squad for the clash, with several familiar names making their return after injury absences during the summer schedule.

Tottenham injury update ahead of PSG clash

Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie, both of whom missed the bulk of Tottenham’s pre-season through injury, have been included in Frank’s squad for the trip to Italy.

James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined, alongside new signing Kota Takai. The Tottenham manager has now provided the latest update on Solanke and Udogie’s injury and has also opened up on why Bissouma has been left out of his 22-man squad.

He told Football.london: “Dom [Solanke] is the positive one and available for selection. Destiny [Udogie] is close. Bissouma has not travelled due to disciplinary reasons.

“He’s been late several times and now this time the latest time was one too many. With everything you need to give your players a lot of love. There need to be demands and consequences and this time there was a consequence”

Spurs in familiar surroundings for UEFA Super Cup final

Tottenham will face PSG in Udine, a location familiar to both Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario from their time in Italian football.

Spurs will be determined to build on their Europa League triumph from May by adding another European trophy to their collection.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm UK time, with live coverage available on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate for viewers in the United Kingdom.
