Thomas Frank provides Tottenham injury update on Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie, and Dejan Kulusevski

Thomas Frank has provided an update on the recovery of three senior Tottenham stars, Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie, and Dominic Solanke, and it is bittersweet news for Spurs fans.

The season has not even begun, and Tottenham Hotspur are already seemingly in the midst of a mini injury crisis.

James Maddison is now expected to miss the majority of the season after it was confirmed on Thursday that he had suffered an ACL injury in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United.

Additionally, Radu Dragusin and Dejan Kulusevski are still on the mend from the injuries they suffered last season, while Dominic Solane and Destiny Udogie have hardly kicked a ball in pre-season.

Thomas Frank says one Tottenham star is close to a return, but he is unsure about another

Following Tottenham’s 4-0 loss to Bayern, Frank was asked about when we can expect Solanke, Udogie and Kulusevski back.

The Dane revealed that the centre-forward is now very close to a return, but confessed that he is waiting to know more about the Italy international’s injury over the coming days.

When asked about the trio, Frank told Football.London: “I think it’s three different cases. I think Dom is quite soon that he’ll be available. Destiny, we’ll know more about in the next couple of days. In terms of how it looks in detail, Kulusevski is out for a long time, which I spoke about before.

When asked if he is worried about Udogie, he said: “I’m not worried. We’ll just know more info in a couple of days.”

Frank gives verdict on Joao Palhinha’s Tottenham debut

Joao Palhinha had his first outing in a Spurs shirt yesterday, and ironically, it came against his parent club, who he had left just a few days ago.

At times, the 30-year-old looked like he was struggling to cope with the pace of play, but Frank is not surprised, given that the midfielder has just arrived at the club.

When asked about Palhinha looking off the pace, the Tottenham head coach responded: “I think it’s natural. There’s been a very short turnaround. He just came back and he hasn’t played much in a long time. So we got 45 good minutes into him, and that’s a positive. So he needs a little building up.”
