Juventus may be forced to ignore Tottenham discount and opt for more expensive options
There is one big factor that might force Juventus to end their interest in Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma and turn their attention to other alternatives.
Following the arrival of Joao Palhinha, Tottenham are expected to swiftly offload one of their midfielders, according to Alasdair Gold.
It is certainly no secret who that player is most likely to be, with several reports over the last months stating that Spurs are working to find a buyer for Yves Bissouma, who has just one year left on his contract.
Various Italian outlets had previously claimed that Juventus are eyeing a move for Bissouma after hearing that he is surplus to requirements at Spurs, but there is one factor which could prevent the Old Lady from landing the 28-year-old.
Juventus could turn to more expensive alternatives to Yves Bissouma
According to Tuesday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), the Tottenham midfielder remains on the Binacnoneri’s wishlist.
The outlet points out that the former Brighton man could be signed on a discount as Spurs are ready to sell him for €20m (£17.4m).
However, the problem for Juve is that they have just one non-EU spot left to fill in their squad, which means that they can only land the Tottenham Hotspur man if they decide against signing Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina.
As a result, it is asserted that the Serie A giants could be forced to turn their attention to more expensive alternatives to Bissouma, such as Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand.
Tottenham may not find it easy to offload Bissouma
Some reports over recent weeks have indicated that Bissouma is not in a hurry to leave Spurs and is waiting for the right offer.
That perhaps explains why Tottenham have not been able to offload the Mali international yet.
Over recent days, we have heard that West Ham are considering a move for Bissouma, while some sources have also indicated that the Tottenham midfielder is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
