Tottenham keeping an eye on another South Korean star, he could now be available
An experienced South Korean star, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, faces an uncertain future at his club beyond this summer.
It is now clear that Cristian Romero is set to stay at Spurs, and it is thus unclear whether Tottenham will look to add another centre-back to their squad.
However, the poor fitness record of Romero and Micky van de Ven, along with the fact that Radu Dragusin is still recovering from his ACL injury, may potentially convince the Lilywhites to shore up their defence with another signing.
It was reported earlier this summer Tottenham were keeping an eye on the situation of Bayern Munich star Kim Min-jae, and a big update has now emerged over the future of the South Korean.
Kim Min-jae is not guaranteed to stay at Bayern Munich amid Tottenham links
Since his £43m switch from Napoli two years ago, the 28-year-old has not managed to hit the same heights in the Allianz Arena as he did in the Serie A.
Journalist Christian Falk now reports on FC Bayern Insider that Kim is being courted by Premier League clubs and Saudi Pro League sides.
The report says that the player’s future is still up in the air. While Bayern have not ruled out keeping him at the club, there is also a possibility that he will be sold before the start of the new campaign.
However, so far, no suitable offer has arrived on the table in Bavaria for the South Korea international.
Kim’s stance on his future revealed
Falk says that the centre-back is keen to see in Bayern’s upcoming pre-season games whether he is a key part of Vincent Kompany’s plans.
If Kim feels that he is the clear third choice for the Belgian coach, he is prepared to seek a new challenge this summer.
If the defender does become available, Tottenham may potentially fancy their chances of winning the race for him, given the excellent relationship they have forged with Bayern over the last couple of years.
