Thomas Frank spent 90 hours doing something crazy to prepare for Tottenham job
Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed what Thomas Frank did to prepare before taking over at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Frank arrives at Tottenham Hotspur with his own unique tactical ideas, and we have seen evidence of that so far in pre-season.
The Lilywhites have been much better organised defensively than they were under Ange Postecoglou, and they have also been happier to defend in a mid-block rather than pressing with numbers high up the pitch at every opportunity.
Frank has already said that he wants Tottenham to have more balance than they did last season, and it turns out that the Dane has left no stone unturned in understanding what was wrong with Spurs last term.
Thomas Frank watched every Tottenham game from last season
While Tottenham’s season ended on a high last term with the Europa League triumph, the team’s results in the Premier League were shambolic, with the Lilywhites suffering 22 defeats.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed on the Last Word on Spurs that Frank did a deep dive on what went wrong with the North London side last season.
Jacobs claimed that the Danish coach watched every single one of Tottenham’s matches from last season before arriving at Hotspur Way.
For the record, Tottenham played 60 games last season across the Premier League, Europa League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup, which would amount to well over 90 hours of footage for Thomas Frank to consume.
Daniel Levy is convinced Frank is the right appointment for Spurs
The 51-year-old is still in the honeymoon phase in North London, and as expected, Tottenham fans are excited about the new era.
However, it is not just the supporters who have a good feeling about the new Spurs head coach, with Daniel Levy insisting he is confident Tottenham have hired the right man in Frank.
The Tottenham chairman described the former Brentford boss as ‘highly intelligent’ and backed him to improve both the youngsters and the experienced players in the squad.
