Tottenham ‘under pressure’ to move fast as Arsenal turn Eberechi Eze’s head
A new report has now shed light on whether Eberechi Eze’s stance regarding a move to Tottenham has changed after Arsenal entered the race for the Crystal Palace star.
Over the last week, a number of outlets have reported that Eze has given the green light to join Tottenham this summer after the Lilywhites expressed an interest in his services.
Some sources have even claimed that Spurs are ready to meet Eze’s £68m release clause, which would make the 26-year-old the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
However, over the last few days, we have heard that Arsenal are trying to hijack Tottenham’s move for Eze, with Mikel Arteta keen on adding a top-class left-winger to his squad.
Eberechi Eze’s stance has changes with Tottenham and Arsenal both keen
Over the last 24 hours, some publications have claimed that the Gunners have made contact over a deal for Eze, and this information has now been backed up by a new report in GiveMeSport.
The report claims that Arsenal have touched base to gather information regarding a deal for the England international, and this poses a serious problem for their North London rivals.
It is asserted that following contact from Arteta’s men, Eze’s head has been turned, with the attacking midfielder now alive to the possibility that there may be a better option on the table this summer than a move to N17.
As a result, Spurs are said to be under pressure to speed up their move for the Palace star if they want to avoid losing him to their fierce local rivals.
Eze may not be Arsenal’s top target this summer
GiveMeSport also back up what has been reported by other sources over recent days by explaining that the Eagles star has been identified by Arsenal as an alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.
It is revealed that while Rodrygo had decided to leave Madrid in search of regular game time, the arrival of new manager Xabi Alonso has made him wait to see if anything changes.
Additionally, Los Blancos will not sanction a deal before the end of the Club World Cup, which is why the Gunners decided to advance on Eze.
This is consequential from a Tottenham Hotspur perspective as reports over recent days have indicated that Spurs are ready to challenge Arsenal for Rodrygo’s signature.
