Why Champions League giants are desperate to land Tottenham’s Mikey Moore
An Italian scout has now revealed what a Serie A club are thinking about Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore on the back of his breakthrough season in North London.
Moore is widely seen as a generational talent, not just in Hotspur Way, but in the broader footballing industry, and it appears that several European clubs are now looking to poach the youngster away from Spurs.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Borussia Dortmund had reached out to Moore about a summer transfer, but that rumour appears to have died out over recent weeks.
Just a few days ago, it was reported by Gazzetta dello Sport that Juventus are eyeing an audacious move for Moore, with the Serie A club keen on making the youngster a part of their young attacking spine.
Juventus are huge admirers of Tottenham’s Mikey Moore
The report from Gazzetta explained that the Bianconeri are hoping that their general manager, Damien Comolli, who was formerly Tottenham’s director of football, could use his relationship with the Lilywhites to get a deal for the winger over the line.
Italian scout Marco Palma has now confirmed that Igor Tudor’s men are indeed huge fans of the Spurs academy graduate and are continuing to watch him carefully.
Palme told TuttoMercatoWeb Radio (as relayed by Bianconera News) about Moore: “A pure talent of the new English generation, Moore is one of the brightest prospects in the entire Anglo-Saxon youth scene. An attacking winger or trequartista, he loves to start from the left to come back on his strong foot but is able to vary across the entire offensive front.
“Gifted with great technique, speed in tight spaces and vision of the game, he combines quality in individual inspiration and intelligence in his choices. Captain of the England U19s, he made his Premier League debut with Spurs in May 2024. Juventus is watching him carefully, convinced of his international potential.”
Why Spurs fans need not worry about Moore’s future
It is doubtful that this is the last we will hear of the interest in the teenager this summer, given the reputation the youngster has among talent spotters across the game.
However, Spurs fans do not need to lose sleep about losing the winger, as reports indicate that Moore is expected to sign a new contract at Tottenham when he turns 18 in August.
Additionally, Moore has admitted that he is excited to work with Thomas Frank and to catch Dane’s eye during pre-season, which suggests that he is making no plans to exit Hotspur Way this summer.
