Exclusive: Tottenham could move for five-goal winger after Eberechi Eze and Alejandro Garnacho update

0

Tottenham Hotspur still want to bring in a left-sided attacker despite signing Mathys Tel this week, and Ben Jacobs has provided an exclusive update to Spurs Web on Eberechi Eze, Alejandro Garnacho, and one more.

Tottenham Hotspur made Mathys Tel their first signing of the summer last week, agreeing on a £29.6m fee with Bayern Munich for the France U21 star.

Tel celebrated in style by scoring at the U21 European Championships on the very same day. Spurs may feel that they have a bargain on their hands, seeing as the original option to buy Tel was set at £45m.

The Frenchman took a little time to warm up over in England but started to put in some bright displays off the left side of attack in the latter weeks of the season. He finished on two goals and two assists from 913 minutes of Premier League football.

Despite Spurs signing Tel and extending Heung-min Son’s contract by an extra year, it appears they are not done shopping in the left-wing market this summer.

Tottenham linked with Eberechi Eze and Alejandro Garnacho

Tottenham Hotspur have long-since been linked with Eberechi Eze, but getting the England attacker out of Crystal Palace has always seemed like a daunting task.

Ben Jacobs has exclusively informed Spurs Web that Palace ideally want to keep their star man for one more season, although that well-reported £68m release clause does become active this summer.

Spurs have also been linked with a move for Alejandro Garnacho this summer, with the Argentine winger destined to part ways with Ruben Amorim and Manchester United.

However, Spurs Web have been told that Tottenham Hotspur have not made an approach for the Red Devils attacker just yet. Man United’s high price tag of over £60m and Garnacho’s high wages could also be stumbling blocks for the Lilywhites.

As such, Spurs fans have now been told not to rule out a return for an old target, Antonio Nusa. Tottenham were thought to be on the verge of landing Nusa back in January 2024 before a London rival stole a march. Who was that London rival? None other than Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

Nusa ended up failing his medical with the Bees before sealing a move to RB Leipzig and playing a total of 40 games last season – which would not tend to indicate any lingering injury issues. However, the 20-year-old only managed three goals in 25 Bundesliga games.

Spurs tipped to go back in for Antonio Nusa this summer

Ben Jacobs told SpursWeb: “Spurs are still looking at left-sided attackers even with Mathys Tel being signed permanently.

“Alejandro Garnacho has been linked, but I am not personally aware of any approach yet. Manchester United want £60m+ and the Argentine winger commands a relatively high wage. Chelsea have considered Garnacho, even though their priority is Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens. And Aston Villa could also be one to watch.

“The challenge with Garnacho is Manchester United are insisting on a permanent sale, since that would be pure profit and give the club more PSR headroom. Let’s see how things develop. I know Garancho would love to remain in the Premier League.

Eberechi Eze is another left-sided attacker to watch. Crystal Palace prefer to keep Eze for one more season, but he does have a £68m release clause.

“I also wouldn’t discount a move for Antonio Nusa, a player Frank really wanted to bring to Brentford. The deal was all in place last summer, but some back and knee issues became apparent during his medical and Brentford decided not to proceed. Nusa went to Leipzig and had a solid season despite his team finishing a disappointing seventh.”
