Tottenham prepare £20m bid for Premier League midfielder but it may not be enough

0

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make an opening offer for a player who Thomas Frank knows very well, but the Lilywhites’ first bid is likely to be sent back.

According to reports, signing a defensive midfielder is one of Thomas Frank’s priorities ahead of his first season at Tottenham.

Several outlets have reported over the past few days that Frank would like to bring Christian Norgaard to Tottenham, with the 51-year-old having managed the experienced midfielder at Brentford as well as Brondby.

In fact, Football Transfers even claimed a couple of days ago that Spurs have had a long-standing interest in Norgaard and may now sense an opportunity to finally get their man after appointing Frank.

CaughtOffside have now claimed that Spurs are determined to reunite the Denmark international with their new head coach at N17.

Frank is keen to add a midfielder anchor to his squad and he believes that the Brentford captain will add tactical discipline and leadership qualities to Spurs, along with a detailed understanding of his system.

Tottenham believe that the 31-year-old can play a key role in their new era and they are currently preparing a bid in the region of £17m–£20m for the midfielder.

However, the outlet says that Spurs’ offer may fall well short of the Bees’ valuation, with the West London club determined to ward off suits by putting a big price tag on their captain.

Tottenham face intense competition for Norgaard

CaughtOffside claim that the Lilywhites are far from the only ones circling over the Brentford star this summer.

Bournemouth, Fulham, and Everton are all monitoring Norrgard’s situation and the trio could push ahead with a move for the midfielder soon.

The publication adds that Tottenham’s pursuit of Norgaard is at a standstill at the moment but things could change over the next few weeks.
