Tottenham discuss Brentford double raid that would cost around £100m

0

According to a new report, Tottenham Hotspur are not merely content raiding Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo but are also working on signing another of the Bees’ star men.

It appeared until a couple of days ago that Mbeumo was heading to Manchester United, but things have seemingly changed following the arrival of Frank at Tottenham.

On Friday, news broke that Spurs had launched an eye-watering £70m offer for Mbeumo to beat the Red Devils to the 25-year-old’s signature.

Tottenham fans are understandably very excited at the possibility of hijacking the Mbeumo deal, and they have now received even better news as it has been claimed that another Bees star is in the sights of the North London club.

Tottenham have held discussions over a move for Yoane Wissa

The Guardian have now said that as things stand, Mbeumo’s preference is to move to Old Trafford but United are yet to launch an improved offer after their initial £55m offer was turned down by Brentford last week.

The report says that Tottenham Hotspur are now optimistic that Frank’s relationship with the Cameroon international can help persuade him to move to N17 instead this summer.

Additionally, it is alleged that Spurs have also held internal discussions over a move for Mbeumo’s striker partner, Yoane Wissa, who scored 19 goals for the Bees last season.

Tottenham allegedly face competition from Nottingham Forest for Wissa after Nuno Espirito Santo’s men failed with a move for the striker in the January window.

The publication adds that the West London club are unlikely to consider offers of less than £40m for the DR Congo international.

Is this evidence that a senior Spurs forward is leaving?

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are expected to listen to offers for Richarlison this summer, even though the Brazilian had a strong end to the season.

If Tottenham do make a move for Wissa, that would potentially serve as confirmation that the Brazilian does not have a future at the club.

Dominic Solanke needs some competition for his place in the side, and the Brentford centre-forward may be the ideal solution, particularly given his familiarity with Frank’s system.
