Report: Tottenham have held talks with highly-rated teenage defender who has enjoyed 'meteoric rise'
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned their attention to a teenage full-back who has been making plenty of waves in Major League Soccer.
Tottenham could be on the lookout for extra cover in defence this summer after Sergio Reguilon departed the Lilywhites, while Spurs are yet to confirm if they will take up the option to extend Ben Davies’ contract.
Unsurprisingly, it has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are expected to sign a left-back to offer competition for Destiny Udogie this summer.
A fresh report from across the pond has now revealed that the Lilywhites have now turned their attention to an American teenager, who has been displaying maturity beyond his years in the MLS.
Tottenham have spoken to New England Revolution’s young full-back
Journalist Seth Macomber has now told The Blazing Musket that Tottenham are big fans of New England Revolution left-back Peyton Miller, who has emerged as one of the best young players in the MLS since breaking into the side back in 2023.
Miller is just 17 years of age, but he has already become a mainstay for his side and has a goal and three assists to his name across over 1,503 minutes.
It was previously claimed by Fox Sports’ Doug McIntyre that at least young one Premier League club has expressed an interest in the teenager, who is expected to move to Europe sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, Boston.com have also relayed Macomber’s information, asserting that Spurs have already held talks with Miller regarding a summer switch.
Tottenham are also eyeing a Brazilian left-back
Interestingly, Peyton Miller is not the only left-back from the Americas that Tottenham allegedly have their eye on.
Over recent weeks, it has emerged Spurs have expressed an interest in Botafogo left-back Cuiabano and have spoken to the defender as well as to his club regarding a summer move.
However, the update revealed that Tottenham face competition from Bournemouth and Manchester United for the young Brazilian.
