Ange Postecoglou is worried he might be ‘killed off’ before biggest Tottenham success
Ange Postecoglou has spoken about what his third season at Tottenham Hotspur could potentially have in store and about whether it will be a brave call for Daniel Levy to sack him after the club’s European success.
Spurs fans still have not come down off the high from Wednesday’s Europa League success and celebrations will continue after Tottenham’s final game of the season against Brighton this afternoon.
While most fans seemed ambivalent about Ange Postecoglou’s future before the final, the mood appears to have shifted drastically among the fan base, with the Australian becoming a hero after delivering what he promised.
During Friday’s trophy parade in North London, Postecoglou teased Spurs fans by stating that season three of a TV series is often better than season two.
Postecoglou clarifies comments about his third season
The Spurs boss has now elaborated on his vision, insisting that he and his coaching staff are building something significant at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 59-year-old insisted that he fully believes that the Lilywhites could do something even more special next season, now that the club has gotten over the line and tasted success.
When asked if he has a trailer for season three like the best TV shows, Postecoglou joked (via Football.London): “I should have thought about it a bit more because as somebody rightly pointed out, sometimes they kill off the main character. I could be in strife there!
“I said even before the game, I really believe we’re just building something and a significant win accelerates that. I really believe that is the case and I am not going to put a limit on what we can achieve.
“I certainly believe it’s exciting the possibilities of next year knowing I’ve got a group of players now and staff and a club that knows how to win and wants more of it.”

Ange Postecoglou insists he has not thought about his Tottenham future
Reports in the media continue to suggest that Tottenham are expected to make a managerial change despite their Europa League success.
However, Postecoglou insists that he has not given much thought to his own future as he was singularly focused on helping the club lift the Europa League.
When asked if it would be a brave call to sack him after what he has achieved, the Tottenham boss responded: “I haven’t given it a lot of thought. I refuse to be distracted by anything in terms of the opportunity that was before us, and since the game, I just wanted to take the opportunity also to enjoy that as well.
“I haven’t thought about it. I assume at some point somebody will tell me something. If not, I’m just gonna roll up next year and be a bit like Costanza from Seinfeld. I’ll just sit at the desk and get on with my job.”
