Over recent weeks, many sources have been reporting that a clause in Delap’s contract allows him to leave for a cut-price fee if Ipswich’s relegation is confirmed.
The fate of Keiran McKenna’s side has now been sealed following their 3-0 loss at St James Park on Saturday, which confirms that the Tractor Boys will be back in the Championship next term.
Now that Ipswich’s relegation is sealed, Romano has now taken to social media to confirm that a Delap can be signed for just £30m as the purchase clause has now become active.
Tottenham face plenty of competition for Liam Delap
Unsurprisingly, Delap’s release clause is thought to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides ahead of the summer.
Earlier this month, one source claimed that Chelsea have moved into pole position to sign Delap this summer.
The same report explained that Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool had also spoken to the striker’s representatives and that the 22-year-old is yet to make a final decision on his future.
