0

Ange Postecoglou has called for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to be rocking on Thursday night, as his side prepares for a crucial Europa League showdown against Eintracht Frankfurt.

As Tottenham Hotspur heads into the business end of their 2024/25 campaign, each game is set to carry more weight—particularly in the Europa League.

On Thursday, Spurs are set to face their biggest challenge yet, as they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With the second leg set to take place in Germany, Ange Postecoglou’s side will have to give it everything to create some breathing room before that tough trip to Frankfurt next week.

Ange Postecoglou demands fierce atmosphere against Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League tie

Ange Postecoglou, speaking to the media ahead of Thursday night’s clash, has made it clear what he expects from the Tottenham supporters when Frankfurt come to town.

According to the Spurs boss, it’s the atmosphere that often makes the difference in Europe—it’s what separates the top clubs from the rest, and he wants that edge on the night.

He said: “It’s hugely important. With every European game, you are watching last night or watching tonight, the atmosphere makes a big impact. It’s a big part of European football. A lot of teams that have success in Europe are on the back of a really strong home atmosphere. We hope it’s the same for us tomorrow.”

Postecoglou’s warning and why this first leg matters for Tottenham

It’s no surprise why Postecoglou is calling on his 12th man for this one. Ahead of the clash against Southampton, Ange Postecoglou admitted his scout had already warned him about the deafening noise levels at Deutsche Bank Park.

He said: “I can’t control that. As I said before, I would like to think irrespective of people’s feelings right now, I don’t think there will be a Tottenham supporter out there who doesn’t want to win the Europa League.

“The home game in the Europa League is going to be important. We had someone at the Frankfurt game last week and they said the atmosphere was really loud.”

This first leg could be pivotal for Spurs. While Frankfurt’s recent form shows they’re there for the taking, Tottenham will need to be at their absolute best if they want to carry any kind of advantage back to Germany.
