Tottenham ready to pounce on Johnny Cardoso’s USA midfield teammate
Tottenham Hotspur are of the clubs reportedly sensing an opportunity to pounce on a Serie A midfielder after he had a falling out with his coaching staff and his own fans over the weekend.
There are changes expected in the middle of the park at Spurs this summer, especially given that Yves Bissouma has been backed to leave Tottenham.
It was reported last month that Tottenham are admirers of AC Milan’s Yunus Musah and the Lilywhites are continuing to monitor the young American’s development closely.
Tottenham also have an option to buy Johnny Cardoso – Musah’s USA midfield teammate – this summer.
Following a huge development regarding the 22-year-old a few days ago, Ange Postecoglou’s men are now thought to be sensing an opportunity to secure his services.
Tottenham ready to move for Yunus Musah after Milan fallout
A report in MilanLive reveals that the midfielder’s future at San Siro is now in doubt after what happened in Milan’s latest clash against Fiorentina.
The Rossoneri were held to a 2-2 draw at home by the Viola and Musah had a game to forget, making a major error that led to one of Fiorentina’s goals.
Minutes later, manager Sergio Conceicao decided to take him off, even though only 24 minutes had gone on the clock, with the USA international heading straight into the dressing room as boos rang around the stadium.
The report says that the fallout from the incident has been chaotic as this is the second time that Musah has been taken off in the first half this season.
A few Premier League clubs are now ready to take advantage of the issue and land the player. Apart from Spurs, the report also names, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest as sides that are ‘very keen’ on securing the midfielder’s services this summer.
How much will Musah cost this summer?
The outlet explains that Milan received a few approaches for Musah last year but they rejected all of them as they were keen to keep him at the club.
The club’s management still has not lost faith in the Arsenal academy graduate, but it is said that a sale cannot be ruled out this summer.
The publication adds that the 22-year-old is thought to be valued at around €30m (£25.7m) by the Serie A club.
