Ange Postecoglou could do something at Tottenham he hasn’t done since October 2023
Following an impressive upturn in form for Tottenham Hotspur in February, Ange Postecoglou is now in contention for Premier League Manager of the Month.
Tottenham Hotspur’s 2024/25 campaign has been nothing short of underwhelming. The Lilywhites currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, fourteen points adrift of the top four, having suffered 14 defeats in their 27 matches so far.
Injuries have undoubtedly played a major role in their decline. However, February marked the return of five key players from the Tottenham treatment room. Naturally, their presence sparked an upturn in both form and performances.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham turnaround earns recognition
Despite a turbulent season, Ange Postecoglou managed to guide Spurs to three wins from four Premier League outings in February.
Their only defeat came at the hands of reigning champions Manchester City. Spurs also secured two clean sheets, netted seven goals across those fixtures, and conceded just twice.
This resurgence has earned Postecoglou a place on the shortlist for Premier League Manager of the Month for February – an award he hasn’t won since October 2023.
Manager | Club | P | W | D | L | GD |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ange Postecoglou | Tottenham Hotspur | 4 | 3 | 0 | 1 | +5 |
Postecoglou ended a seven-match winless streak with a commanding 2-0 derby victory over Brentford. He then oversaw two further wins from three, solidifying Spurs’ resurgence.
Four Premier League managers Postecoglou is up against
Ange Postecoglou is up against a competitive field, with several other managers also enjoying a strong February.
Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace), Glasner’s Palace side continued their impressive away form, extending their unbeaten run on the road to nine league matches. They picked up statement victories, including a 2-0 win at Old Trafford against Manchester United and a commanding 4-1 home triumph over Aston Villa.
David Moyes (Everton), Moyes guided Everton to an unbeaten month, stretching their lead away from the relegation zone. The highlight? A 4-0 thrashing of Leicester City and a dramatic 2-2 Merseyside derby draw with Liverpool.
Marco Silva (Fulham), Silva has kept Fulham firmly in the race for European football, ending the month just two points off the top six. A historic first-ever Premier League away win at Wolves rounded off a strong run.
Arne Slot (Liverpool), Liverpool’s relentless title charge continued under Slot, who saw his side maintain their lead at the top of the table. Averaging two goals per game, the Reds finished February 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
Postecoglou has his work cut out against stiff competition, but his impact on Spurs’ February revival will give him a fighting chance at landing the award.
