Tottenham think they are leading the race for England U21 international
Tottenham Hotspur are of the belief that they are currently leading the race to sign a Premier League teenage sensation, who is expected to be on the move this summer.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that after failing with a move in January, Tottenham are expected to go back in for Tyler Dibling in the summer.
With Southampton looking destined to go down, the 19-year-old looks set to be one of the hottest transfer properties of the summer.
That is why we have heard reports that Tottenham are expected to face competition from within the Premier League and from Bundesliga clubs for the teenager.
Tottenham are confident about Tyler Dibling pursuit
A new report in talkSPORT has now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are of the belief that they are at the front of the queue in the race for Dibling’s signature.
The Saints academy graduate is expected to leave the South Coast when the club’s relegation is sealed, and Spurs are said to be eyeing a discounted deal.
It is revealed that Daniel Levy is of the belief that Southampton would have no choice but to lower their £50m valuation if they go down, particularly given that Dibling enters the final year of his deal this June.
Newcastle and Aston Villa have also made initial enquiries for the wide man, but Spurs are confident that they are the ones leading the race.
Dibling is a perfect fit for Spurs under Ange Postecoglou
Dibling fits with the profile of players Spurs have targeted over the last couple of years, being extremely young and having a high ceiling.
The 19-year-old would also boost Tottenham’s homegrown numbers and the fact that he has Premier League experience under his belt should help him hit the ground running at N17.
One can understand why Postecoglou’s men are already making efforts to ensure that they are first in line to secure the youngster when Southampton inevitably return to the Championship.
