Tottenham fans may disagree with Chris Sutton’s Ipswich Town score prediction

0

With a trip to Portman Road awaiting Spurs this weekend, Chris Sutton has given his verdict on how he thinks Ipswich Town vs Tottenham is going to unfold.

On Saturday, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham will take a trip to Portman Road Stadium where they are set to take on Kieran Mckenna’s Ipswich Town.

This will be the second meeting between the Tractor Boys and the Lilywhites this season. Last time out, Mckenna’s men emerged victorious as they secured a narrow 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

This time around Ange Postecoglou’s men will be hoping to get revenge as they look to make it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League.

Chris Sutton’s Ipswich Town vs Tottenham score prediction

Ahead of the clash, football pundit Chris Sutton has now given his score prediction for the game. He expects this to be a tight matchup, with both sides sharing a point.

He wrote on his score prediction column for the BBC Sport: “Ipswich got a great battling point against Aston Villa last week but wins are what they need in their situation at the bottom of the table.

“They beat Tottenham earlier in the season to get their first victory of the campaign and another one would be absolutely massive for them.

“I really hope they do it – not for me, but for my daughter’s teacher, Mr Fields who is a big Tractor Boys fan. But this game is big for Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou too.

“Having James Maddison back fit obviously helps Spurs, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario also played really well against Manchester United on his return from injury too.

“So, while my first thought was that Ipswich could get some joy from playing on the counter-attack, I am going with a draw.”

Sutton’s score prediction: 1-1

What a win will mean for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou

As Sutton has alluded to, a win will be massive for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham who are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Although a top-four finish might seem out of reach, it is still important for the Lilywhites to have a strong end to the season.

A respectable league finish in the top six or seven will still be more than welcomed. With the return of injured players, a win is what is expected this weekend.
