Tottenham could receive two £41m offers for Heung-min Son this summer

0

Tottenham Hotspur’s stance on Heung-min Son’s future has now been revealed as two clubs are plotting massive bids for the Spurs captain during the summer transfer window.

Son’s lacklustre displays have been a huge issue for Tottenham for much of the season. It has been reported over recent days that the decision-makers at the North London club are concerned by the fact that the 32-year-old no longer seems to pose the same threat in the final third.

This report came from GiveMeSport, who asserted that the Tottenham captain is no longer guaranteed a place in Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven when everyone is fit.

As a result, it was suggested that many at Hotspur Way have doubts over the player’s future at the club, with some expecting him to depart at the end of the season.

Two clubs prepared to make big offers for Son

CaughtOffside has now claimed that the Tottenham forward is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League, with both Al Ittihad and Al Hilal keen on securing him.

The report asserts that the two clubs would be prepared to offer €50m (£41.3m) offer for the South Korea international, which is not expected to be matched by any European club.

It is explained that Spurs would ideally like to keep Son and are even prepared to offer him a new contract.

However, is pointed out that an offer of over £40m for a player who will turn 33 before next season will be ‘difficult to turn down’ for the North London side.

Heung-min Son’s stance on his own Tottenham future

CaughtOffside makes it clear that Son is happy at Spurs at the moment and is not giving any thought to the idea of leaving the club.

The player, who is into his tenth season at Tottenham is said to be liking life under Ange Postecoglou, with the forward’s entourage open to entering into negotiations over a new deal.

The big question is whether the Spurs hierarchy will restart talks over a long-term contract, and one would assume that their decision will depend on whether the forward manages to turn around his form over the coming months.
