Tottenham keeping close eye on striker with 12 goals this season

0

Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a move for a centre-forward who has taken the Championship by storm this season, with the player in question delivering an impressive performance in front of Spurs’ scouts this week.

Wilson Isidor was a completely unknown quantity when Sunderland signed him on loan from Zenit Saint Petersburg last summer, with the Black Cats making the deal permanent in January for just £3m.

The Frenchman is having an extremely impressive debut season in English football, having already found the back of the net 12 times in 30 league matches as he helps spearhead the club’s promotion push.

It has now emerged that the 24-year-old’s displays in the Stadium of Light are attracting the attention of a number of top-flight clubs, including Spurs.

Wilson Isidor impresses with Tottenham scouts watching

According to Chronicle Live, scouts from both Tottenham and Elland Road were at Elland Road on Monday to run the rule over Isidor in Sunderland’s top-of-the-table clash against Leeds.

The French striker gave his side the lead with a brilliantly taken goal on 32 minutes, but that was not enough to help his side get a result as Leeds came back with two second-half strikers to secure all three points.

However, it is suggested that the Lilywhites would have been impressed with what they saw from Isidor as they and other top-flight clubs continue to follow the forward with keen interest ahead of the summer.

Tottenham also eyeing Sunderland starlet Jobe Bellingham

Isidor is not the only Black Cats player that Spurs are interested in, with reports over recent days also claiming that the Tottenham are big fans of Jobe Bellingham.

It was claimed by Football Insider a couple of days ago that the 19-year-old, who is the young brother of Real Madrid star Jude, is being watched very closely by the North London club.

It was asserted that Sunderland fear losing their starlet if they fail to win promotion to the Premier League, with a number of top-flight sides expected to make an offer for the teenager.
