Tottenham and Arsenal claim made about Harry Kane amid Premier League return rumours

0

Journalist Charles Watts, who covers all things Arsenal, has made an interesting claim about the possibility of Harry Kane making a shock move to the Emirates Stadium and whether the striker will consider returning to Tottenham.

Since it first emerged earlier this month that Harry Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich has a £54m release clause which would become active this summer, speculation has run rife in the British press over the striker potentially returning to the Premier League.

A few pundits have floated the possibility that Harry Kane could end up at Arsenal, given how desperate Mikel Arteta’s men are to add a top-class number nine to their squad.

Meanwhile, other sources have pointed out that Tottenham have not ruled out the possibility of making a shock move for Kane this summer, especially since the Lilywhites have the first refusal on their record goalscorer.

Harry Kane is more likely to join Tottenham than Arsenal

Charles Watts has now poured cold water over rumours that the Tottenham legend could end up joining the Gunners this summer.

The journalist suggested that the former Spurs man would want to win many accolades at the Allianz Arena before leaving the club and suggested that Tottenham would be his top preference when he decides to return to England in the future.

Watts said in his latest exclusive Daily Briefing column: “The talk of Harry Kane and Arsenal just seems farcical to me. People are just putting two and two together and coming out with five.

“Yes, Arsenal need a striker and yes, Harry Kane has a £65m release clause that will become active in the summer. But come on, does anyone really believe that Arsenal is a likely destination?

“Kane wouldn’t consider it and even if he did, I don’t think Arsenal would because of his age. He would be 32 by the time next season kicked off, so it’s just not something the club would do. I can’t see him leaving Bayern so soon anyway.

“Even if they do win the league this season, which looks very likely, I’m sure he will want to win even more over there before he does return to the Premier League. And when that does finally happen, I imagine it will be back to Spurs.”

Kane has no reason to leave Bayern Munich

Kane made the move over to Munich to win trophies and the striker will want to add many medals to his CV before returning to England so that his legacy can never be questioned.

The big prize he will have his eye on is the Champions League trophy and in the event that Bayern do not win it this year, he will want to have another go at it next season.

The England captain might be a little more receptive to offers to return to the Premier League in the summer of 2026.
