Tottenham have a chance to scout striker in the flesh as they search for next Harry Kane

0

Tottenham Hotspur’s clash this weekend offers them a prime opportunity to scout Liam Delap a player they have been linked with in recent times.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to return to Premier League action this weekend when they visit Portman Road Stadium to take on Ipswich Town.

The Lilywhites would be hoping to get revenge after Ipswich secured a 2-1 victory against Tottenham back in November.

A victory will not see Spurs go higher than 12th in the Premier League table, a defeat could see the North London club go all the way down to 14th.

Tottenham have Liam Delap on their transfer radar

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be focused on making it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League on Saturday. However, a trip to Portman Road also offers them an opportunity to scout Liam Delap.

The striker has notched in ten goals and two assists in twenty-four League games this season, which has seen Delap come on Tottenham’s radar as a potential signing to improve their striking options.

While competition for the striker is stiff, there have been claims by journalists that Spurs can compete with the likes of Chelsea for the striker.

If there have been any doubts about the striker’s abilities, Saturday’s game presents the perfect opportunity for Spurs to know him better.

Does Harry Kane’s potential availability change things?

As rumours of Spurs‘ interest in the young Englishman continue to circulate, the question remains whether he is the right fit for the club, or if he will be a good buy.

There is no doubt that Delap is a talented youngster with plenty of energy to run, press, and link up play—though not yet at the highest level, the quality is evident, and the potential is there.

However, I do think that if Harry Kane is available this summer and is open to leaving Bayern Munich, then he has to be the man Spurs go for if they are looking to get a striker.

Harry Kane guarantees you 30-plus goals a season and would drastically elevate our attack. This is not a criticism of Delap, but you simply need to go for Kane when he is available for a cut-price fee.
