Statistics show that Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski is better than every other Premier League player at creating chances for his teammates this season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s difficult 24/25 campaign

The 24/25 season has been less than ideal for Tottenham Hotspur as the club currently finds itself in 12th place in the Premier League table.

Not only are they 12th, but they are also currently 13 points away from fourth and have crashed out from both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup – further limiting their chance of winning a trophy this season.

Injuries have ravaged the squad and this has led manager Ange Postecoglou to rely heavily on a small core group of fit players.

Dejan Kulusevski leads Premier League for chances created from open play

Despite all of these challenges, one Tottenham player, Dejan Kulusveski has been ever so consistent this season.

The midfielder has played tons of minutes for the Lilywhites and has notched in nine goals and ten assists – the most of any Spurs player.

In the Premier League as well, he has been immense. According to stats from WhoScored, no player in the League this season has created more chances from open play than Dejan Kulusevski (53).

These numbers are impressive considering that he plays for a Spurs team that has struggled for most of the season. He outperforms the likes of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer and Martin Odegaard in these metrics.

A season of consistency for Kulusevski at Tottenham

While the rest of the Spurs squad have had their fair few share of challenges and moments of inconsistencies, Kulusevski has remained one of the most reliable players this season.

He is among the five Spurs players who have managed to stay injury-free so far this season – alongside the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Pedro Porro, Brandon Austin and Sergio Reguilon.

In terms of minutes played, the Swede is also up there for Spurs. The Lilywhites have played forty games this season in all competitions – Kulusevski is the only player to have been in the squad for all forty and to also make an appearance in all forty games.

Understandably, his versatility this season has played a role in the amount of games he has started. However, as a fan, I will say he has a strong case of being our player of the season.
