A full home Tottenham debut for Mathys Tel

Since joining Spurs on deadline day, new signing Mathys Tel has not had the opportunity to catch his breath just yet as it has been game after game for him.

His first appearance for Spurs came in their 4-0 defeat to an imperious Liverpool team in the semi-final second leg of the Carabao Cup.

The young French forward who started from the bench, had to replace injury-prone Richarlison a minute before half-time. Though the result was not ideal, those were important minutes for the new signing.

72 hours later, Tel, was handed his first full start for the Lilywhites in their clash against Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Despite the game ending in a disappointing 2-1 loss, the 19-year-old signing got his first goal for his new club in the dying moment.

Mathys Tel sends a message to Tottenham fans

After seven days of rest, Spurs were back in action, this time in the Premier League. They were set to face the Red Devils at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, giving Tel the opportunity for a first League start and a home debut.

Ange Postecoglou’s side emerged victorious, secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season, kept back-to-back clean sheets and ended a three-month wait for a home win.

It was a performance that showcased the grit and determination of this Tottenham side and Mathys Tel was fully involved.

Following the game, the teenager sent a message to Tottenham fans on his Instagram stories, stating that this group of players will give everything until the end. He posted: “GIVE EVERYTHING UNTIL THE END! THAT’S US”
