Fabio Paratici recommends Simone Inzaghi to Spurs

The British press have continued to suggest that in the event that Tottenham sack Ange Postecoglou, Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank and Edin Terzic are the top contenders to take over at N17.

However, a few days ago, reports from Italy claimed that Spurs’ former managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, who still works as a consultant for the club, has urged Daniel Levy to appoint Simone Inzaghi.

Inzaghi first made his name at Lazio before replacing Antonio Conte at the San Siro back in 2021, has since led Inter Milan to a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and guided them to the Champions League final two years ago, where they lost to Man City.

Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Inzaghi’s future

Inzaghi is currently focused on leading his team to the Scudetto for the second year in a row, with the club currently sitting just one point behind Conte’s Napoli.

The 48-year-old’s current deal with Inter has two and a half years left to run, but amidst the speculation over his future, Romano has now revealed that a new deal for the Italian coach is now an ‘urgent topic’ at the Serie A side.

When asked if the rumoured Tottenham managerial target will sign a new deal with Inter, Romano told GiveMeSport: “It’s now an urgent topic at Inter. Full focus on Serie A, Champions League, they’re still fighting in all competitions and nothing will be discussed now, also because he signed a new deal 8 months ago.”

Would Simone Inzaghi be tempted by a move to Spurs?

The best managers in the world are in the Premier League, which is why a move to England would undoubtedly be tempting for Inzaghi.

In fact, he has made it clear in the past that he is a fan of English football and that he is ‘intrigued’ by the possibility of working in this country.

He said: “I like it (English football), it intrigues me, but I’m at one of the best teams in Europe and I’m happy here. Nobody can be certain about the future, though.”

However, the former Lazio head coach might not be too keen on inheriting a mess at Tottenham and may feel that better opportunities will come his way if he waits and continues having success at Inter.
