Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has given his score prediction for the Premier League clash between “two pub teams” Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Tottenham vs Manchester United – two sides in poor form
The white side of north London is set to welcome the red side of Manchester to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
Both sides have struggled this season, as Manchester United are currently sat in 13th place, while Spurs occupy 14th, with two points separating either side.
Ange Postecoglou’s men will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend after their disappointing losses in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
Jamie Carragher’s Tottenham vs Man United score prediction
Speaking on It’s Called Soccer, Jamie Carragher has now submitted his score prediction for Tottenham’s Sunday clash against Manchester United.
He said: “I mean, this is like two pub teams, isn’t it? It is, isn’t it? I mean, what is this? The Red Lion vs The Dog and Duck?
“You know what Man United do okay away from home, in sort of big stadium, but Tottenham beat them a few weeks ago.
“I think this will be 1-1, because I think Man United will go there, but they’re back five, sit there, try and make it awkward, try and nix up them. And I’m not sure Tottenham have got enough to score a few goals, even the energy. And I don’t think Man United have got the quality. I’m gonna go 1-1.”
Spurs form in the Premier League before Manchester United clash
Spurs‘ form in the Premier League before this clash against Manchester United, has been nothing but abysmal. The Lilywhites have picked up just one win in their last five League outings.
Additionally, the N17 club has only won once this year in the League, a victory that came in their last tie against Brentford.
Ange Postecoglou has been handed a major boost on the injury front, as several of his injured players are set for a return this weekend. A victory here can not be overstated as Spurs need to turn their dismal form around.
