Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson injury update from Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou has provided an injury update on his Tottenham Hotspur squad ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United – including Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson.
Tottenham have struggled with injuries this season
Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action after being knocked out by Liverpool 4-0 in the Carabao Cup and Aston Villa 2-1 in the FA Cup.
Over the last week, the Lilywhites have been without eleven first-team players because of injuries, which has stretched Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Micky van de Ven who made a return two weeks ago in the clash against Elfsborg in the Europa League, has not featured for Spurs since, with Ange Postecoglou explaining that Micky van de Ven’s absence was precautionary having spoken to the defender and the medical team.
Spurs were handed yet another injury blow, with news revealing that Radu Dragusin suffered an ACL injury that required surgery and has sidelined the Romanian international for the foreseeable future.
Tottenham Hotspur have also received good news this week, as latest reports suggest that Postecoglou has been handed a major injury boost, with seven injured stars returning to first-team training.
Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson injury updates
The boss has now provided an update on the return of two wingers that have been sidelined for a while. Wilson Odobert has been out of action for well over two months, while Brennan Johnson has missed the last four weeks.
As relayed on the club’s official website, Ange Postecoglou revealed: “Wilson’s back, which is brilliant for him because he’s been out the longest and it’s been a long road for him to get back, but he’s back in team training.
“Obviously, he’s missed more football than the others, so we’ll see when we integrate him back into matchdays, but definitely looking good in training.
“Brennan is progressing well. Again, he joined in team training, he will train again today which means, whether it’s this weekend or next weekend, he’ll be good to go. Timo is also training with us and is getting pretty close to being available.”
He also revealed that James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie have been in training and are in contention this weekend against Manchester United.
