Tottenham attacking stats do not reflect Premier League position

Tottenham may be 14th in the Premier League Table, but this does not mean they have failed in every area of the pitch. Spurs have managed to maintain a goal difference of +11, which is far superior to the teams nearest to them in the league.

This remarkable figure is due to Tottenham’s strong goal-scoring record. They have averaged two goals per match in the Premier League, scoring 48 in total. As well as this, the North Londoners have created 57 big chances. Only Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea have created more.

Dominic Solanke is still out with the knee problem he picked up in the North London derby, while Richarlison once again suffered an injury, during the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool.

However, Spurs will be confident their new signing Mathys Tel can keep up their scoring record, especially after his impressive finish in their last match, against Aston Villa.

Mark Lawrenson’s Tottenham vs Man United score prediction

A win on Sunday would see Tottenham rise above Man United in the league table and Mark Lawrenson has predicted this to be the case.

He believes Spurs will continue their average of two goals per game record, with players returning from injury helping them on their way.

Making his Tottenham score prediction on Paddy Power, he said: “You never thought at the start of the season that these two would be in the positions that they are.

“I presume that Spurs might have one or two players back so I’ll go with them but it’s always a toss of a coin with these two.”

Spurs must see their attacking threat restored

Spurs have looked less of an attacking threat in some recent matches and this could be due to injuries. Their top three league scorers in James Maddison, Brennan Johnson and Solanke, have all been stuck on the sidelines in recent weeks.

However, Maddison is expected to be available for selection this weekend, while Johnson has returned to training and could possibly be fit to play this weekend. This will be a huge boost to Tottenham as they look to restore their strong offence.
