After winning the K-League Young Player of the Year award and being named in the K-League Team of the Year, 18-year-old Yang Min-hyeok made a switch from Gangwon FC to Tottenham Hotspur.

The youngster who joined Spurs back in December, has since settled down well in England. However, despite Spurs’ recent injury crisis, Yang did not register a single start for the Lilywhites.

His manager was said to believe that the young forward was not ready for Premier League football just yet and they have since loaned him out to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.

How was Yang Min-hyeok’s debut for Queens Park Rangers?

Since joining the Championship side, Yang Min Hyeok has made two appearances for his new club – his debut came as a substitute in QPR’s 2-1 defeat to Millwall, where he came off the bench for the final 14 minutes.

His second appearance came shortly after on Tuesday night during Queens Park Rangers’ 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers, with the Korean winger featuring for the final 24 minutes.

Following the Championship sides’ win against Blackburn, West London Sport, handed a review of Yang’s performance, they rated his brief cameo a 6 and stated, “Lively after coming on for his home debut.”

QPR and South Korea fans even took to X (Twitter) to voice their excitement about these two ‘lively’ cameos from Yang.

The youngster will be hoping to build on his lively home debut on Tuesday when the Hoops take on Coventry City.

What QPR fans can expect from Yang Min-hyeok?

During his time at Gangwon FC, Yang showed that he is a player capable of finding the back of the net and also one who can pick out his teammates – he scored 12 goals and notched six assists.

When asked in an interview what QPR fans can expect from him, the South Korean winger said: “I have speed, a good finish, and I am a good dribbler.”

He is a player with a lot of potential who needs game time. As his minutes improve, he will adjust to the tempo of English football and hopefully, he will begin to get goals and assists and help his club get promotion to the Premier League.
