Harry Kane release clause update – Tottenham would have first refusal
There is a clause in Harry Kane’s contract that allows him to leave for a cut-price fee in the summer, and a fresh report has now suggested a few Premier League sides may be interested in the former Tottenham star ahead of the summer window.
Harry Kane can leave Bayern Munich on the cheap
A couple of days ago, it was reported in Germany that Kane has the option to leave the Allianz Arena for a relatively low fee if he wished to do so at the end of the season.
This update came from Bild, who claimed that the striker could have left for just £66m in the recently closed January transfer window, and he could transfer away for just £54m next season.
That potentially opens the door for a sensational Premier League return for Kane in the immediate future, keeping alive the possibility that he could beat Alan Shearer’s goal record.
Harry Kane clause will interest Premier League sides
A new report from The Daily Mail also confirms the existence of such a clause in Kane‘s contract and they suggest that this information will interest a number of top Premier League sides, who are on the lookout for a number nine.
However, the outlet makes it clear that at the moment, the former Tottenham man is ‘very happy’ at the Bavarian side, and there is no indication that he will depart the club after just two seasons.
Nevertheless, it is suggested that a few elite clubs around England and Europe will be keeping an eye on the situation and would be ready to pounce if the 31-year-old shows any inclination to leave Germany.
Tottenham have first refusal for Harry Kane
The Mail also backs up what we have heard from a number of outlets over the last 18 months by stating that Spurs have first refusal on Kane if Bayern ever decide to sell him.
The clause was inserted by Daniel Levy when he agreed to sell Tottenham’s top scorer to the German giants 18 months ago. However, it is explained that the clause would be dependent on the centre-forward greenlighting a return to N17.
Spurs fans will be dreaming of the striker making a fairytale return to the club to break Shearer’s record before hanging up his boots.
