Watch Jamie Donley score half-way line screamer against Man City
Tottenham starlet Jamie Donley scored what is undoubtedly the best goal of his career so far this afternoon, lobbing Manchester City’s Ortega from just beyond the halfway line.
Jamie Donley continues to go from strength to strength
Donley has completely turned around his season over the past couple of months out on loan. The Tottenham starlet has gone from struggling to make the bench at times for Leyton Orient in November to quickly becoming one of their most important players.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who is rated very highly at Hotspur Way, has made the number ten spot in the O’s side his own, chipping in with plenty of goals and assists over recent weeks.
However, his latest goal trumps them all, with the Tottenham academy graduate producing a sensational strike against the Premier League champions.

Orient fell short of achieving one of the biggest upsets in recent FA Cup history, but Jamie Donley wrote his name in the history books of the competition with an all-time strike.
In the first 45 minutes, Donley was the difference between the two sides, with the Spurs man lobbing City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega from just inside City’s half.
The goal will officially go down as an Ortega own goal as it hit the crossbar and cannoned off the goalkeeper back into the net, but that does not take away from the quality of Donley’s strike.

This goal shows the confidence of Tottenham’s Jamie Donley
To even attempt this king of lob in a game of this magnitude shows the kind of confidence with which Donley is playing at the moment.
Not a lot of players in world football have the technique to pull off this effort, particularly considering that the attacking midfielder was under pressure and only had a fraction of a second to get his effort away.
Surely, Tottenham have to make space for Jamie Donley in the first-team squad next season!
