Kevin Danso sends message to Tottenham fans after difficult debut
Following Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final, debutant defender Kevin Danso has now sent a message to Tottenham fans.
A first start for new signing Kevin Danso
Despite Tottenham Hotspur’s painful loss on Thursday, there was still a little bit of a silver lining and that was the debut of new signing Kevin Danso.
Ahead of the clash against Liverpool, manager Ange Postecoglou was hoping to have at least one of Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven back in his side, however, that was not the case, as both players were not fit enough to make it to the bench.
This meant that new signing Kevin Danso was thrown right in the thick of it against an in-form Liverpool side. The result was a 4-0 thrashing, but little bad can be said about Kevin Danso’s debut.

He said in a post on Instagram: “Yesterday marked my debut for Tottenham Hotspur in the cup, and though we fell short against a strong side, I couldn’t be prouder to have worn this shirt for the first time.
“The loss stings, but I truly believe in this team and our journey ahead. I want to thank everyone at the club, and every single fan for the support! Onwards and upwards. COYS.”

A closer look at the underlying numbers of Danso’s debut shows that he is a defender with a lot of promise.
According to Fotmob, the defender won 3/3 of his ground duels, was not dribbled past once, and made three head clearances and three blocks.
In terms of his ball-playing ability, he was equally impressive. He completed 33/40 passes, created one chance and played three passes into the final third.
Danso’s performance is one of the positives that can be taken from that game – the hope is that he continues to improve under Ange Postecoglou.
