Predicted Tottenham XI to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup

Goalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: Antonin Kinsky did manage to get himself a clean sheet in Tottenham Hotspur’s last outing in the League against Brentford, which takes his tally to three. He secured one on his debut against Liverpool in the first leg of the semi-final and another against Tamworth in the FA Cup. The hope is that he can get another on Thursday, as that will be enough to see Spurs through.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: No player has played more minutes than Porro for Spurs this season. Last time out he looked really solid defensively, if he can replicate that once more on Thursday, then we can start booking our trip to Wembley.

Centre-back – Ben Davies: Van de Ven could return to action on Thursday despite not being in the squad on Sunday, manager Ange Postecoglou already revealed that he was just handed a rest and there is no injury scare. However, there are whispers of something more serious which is why we are opting for Davies.

Centre-back – Kevin Danso: On Thursday, we could see new signing Kevin Danso in action. He is fit and eligible to help the team from the off, but I worry whether it may be a little too soon given the magnitude of the game. If he does not start, then Ben Davies, Mr Reliable is just as good.

Left-back – Djed Spence: After keeping Bryan Mbeumo quiet on Sunday in what was a man-of-the-match performance, the hope is that he carries the performance to Thursday where he will be up against a much more potent wide player in Mohamed Salah.

Pivot midfielder – Yves Bissouma: We expect Ange Postecoglou to turn to his experienced players in this one, so Yves Bissouma should start.

Central midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur was impressive in the second-half against Brentford over the weekend. His outing in the first-leg against Liverpool was cut short because of a head injury, with him back fit and performing well, he should start in midfield.

Central midfielder – Pape Matar Sarr: Sarr had a solid cameo after he came off the bench in the matchup against Brentford. He got a goal which will do a lot of good for his confidence – Postecoglou will be hoping to keep it tight in the middle of the park which gives Sarr a spot in our predicted XI.

Left midfielder – Heung-min Son: The captain has looked solid in his last two outings. In the Europa League game, he was direct and he took his man on. Against Brentford, he worked hard and was involved in the two goals. More of the same Sonny on Thursday.

Striker – Richarlison: Richarlison does not have much help coming into this one as he is the only fit striker, except there is another addition before deadline day passes. If no one comes through the door, then Richarlison and Dane Scarlett will be the two options available to Ange Postecoglou.

Right midfielder – Dejan Kulusevski: Arguably Tottenham Hotspur’s best player this season. A big performance from him will be needed as this is one of the biggest games yet. Mathys Tel could be an option if his work visa arrives on time but you suspect he may be on the bench anyway.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!
