Tottenham fear 23-year-old will miss most of the rest of the season with injury

0

One Tottenham man will find out the seriousness of his injury later today as he is set to see a specialist to determine the extent of the damage to his knee.

Radu Dragusin has a knee injury

Radu Dragusin has been one of the very few players across the Tottenham squad who has not had a lengthy injury layoff this season, with the Romanian playing nearly every game over the last couple of months in light of the injuries Spurs have had at the back.

However, the 22-year-old also succumbed to an injury in his outing against Elfsborg in the Europa League last week, and Tottenham are still waiting for confirmation about how long the centre-back will be ruled out.

Ange Postecoglou had hinted last week that the seriousness of Dragusin’s injury might dictate whether the club decide to enter the market for further reinforcements at centre-back before the window slams shut.

Specialist visit planned for Radu Dragusin on Monday

Postecoglou might not wait long to receive information regarding the extent of the former Genoa man’s injury and the timeline for his return.

The Standard explains that Dragusin is expected to see a specialist later today to uncertain the seriousness of the problem.

However, the outlet suggests that the expectation at Hotspur Way is that the defender will miss most of what is left of the 2024/25 campaign.

Thankfully for Postecoglou, the club’s situation at the heart of the defence is not as bad as it was a couple of weeks ago, with the Lilywhites securing the services of Kevin Danso from Lens over the weekend while Micky van de Ven also returned to action last week.

Tottenham want another addition at centre-back

It turns out that Spurs are not merely satisfied with the signing of Danso and are trying to get another centre-back through the door before this evening’s transfer deadline, possibly due to fears over a lengthy layoff for Dragusin.

The latest target to emerge for the North London side is Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, with Tottenham seeing a £70m offer for the defender turned by the Eagles earlier today.

However, despite this, Postecoglou’s men have allegedly not given up hopes of tying up a deal for the England international before the 11 pm deadline.
