Tottenham starlet completes loan move to Championship club

0

Yang Min-Hyeok is set to get his first taste of senior English football, with the new Tottenham addition completing a loan switch to QPR until the end of the season.

Yang Min-hyeok not ready for Premier League football yet

Yang has had a meteoric rise over the last 12 months, winning the K-League Young Player of the Year award and being named in the K-League Team of the Year in his first season of senior football for Gangwon FC.

The pacy winger made the switch to Hotspur Way back in December but despite Tottenham’s injury crisis, we are yet to see him make his bow for the Lilywhites.

It was revealed by Alasdair Gold a couple of days ago that Ange Postecoglou and his staff do not think the 18-year-old is ready for Premier League football just yet and are thus considering loaning the youngster out.

Yang Min-hyeok officially completes QPR loan switch

It was previously reported that QPR and Watford were both batting to sign Yang on loan, and it is the Rangers who have won the race to sign the Spurs man.

It has been confirmed that the teenager will spend the second half of the season at Loftus Road as he attempts to help QPR make an unlikely late run towards the playoff spots.

Marti Cifuentes’ men currently sit 13th in the table with 38 points on the board, six points short of Middlesbrough, who occupy the final playoff spot.

The Tottenham coaching staff will be watching with interest as the winger gets an opportunity to make an impact in the Championship over the coming months.

This is a good move for Yang

One would expect Johan Lange and co to have asked for some sort of guarantee from QPR that Yang will get game time as the last thing the youngster needs to warm the bench for four months like Alejo Veliz did at Sevilla last season.

The winger will have a steep learning curve as the pace and the intensity of the Championship might come as a shock to his system.

The youngster might not make an impact straightaway in West London, but this experience will undoubtedly do wonders for his growth as a player.
