Postecoglou reveals exciting Micky Van de Ven update – ‘He’s good to go’
Ange Postecoglou was back in front of the media again providing a Tottenham squad injury update ahead of the match against Elfsborg – and it is good news for Micky Van de Ven.
Tottenham Hotspur vs IF Elfsborg
A point should be enough for Tottenham to secure their place in the Europa League knockout stage when they face the Swedish opposition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night.
James Maddison missed the 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Sunday on the back of his impressive goalscoring performance in Tottenham’s 3-2 win against Hoffenheim last time out in the competition.
Paul O’Keefe revealed on Tuesday that Maddison is set to miss the next two to three weeks as a result of the calf injury he sustained in the match in Germany.

Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, and Wilson Odobert are all sidelined once again.
Djed Spence missed the Leicester loss at the weekend due to a knock and is ineligible for Thursday’s match along with Yang Min-hyeok, Antonin Kinsky and Fraser Forster.
Postecoglou told Football London: “Micky is good, he’s good to go. We’ll try to get him some match minutes. He’s had a good week, 10 days with the team. Madders has a calf strain, 2-3 weeks, Pape is ok, still a bit of a niggle, but he’s ok and available and so is Biss.”
He added: “Djed will be fine for the weekend. Him and Reggy can’t be involved tomorrow but he’ll be fine.”
Tottenham vs Elfsborg is scheduled for an 8 pm BST kick-off on Thursday, January 30, 2025. In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports.
