It turns out that the Lilywhites could now look to repeat the trick by returning to the Scandinavian country to poach another 18-year-old who setting the stage alight.

The player in question is Hammarby winger Bazoumana Toure, who has nine goals and four assists to his name in just 23 appearances in the Allsvenskan.

A report in Fotboll Direkt names Tottenham as one of the clubs circling over Bazoumana Toure, who is now becoming an extremely sought-after commodity around the continent.

However, the report suggests that Brighton may have moved to pole position in the race to sign the Ivorian.

Amidst the growing interest in Toure, Hammarby are said to be hopeful of securing one of the biggest deals in Swedish football history, potentially on par with the kind of fee that Tottenham paid for Bergvall.

Brighton’s famed recruitment department rarely makes any mistakes, which is why it is usually a good sign if the Seagulls are in for one of your transfer targets.

Given the connections that Johan Lange has across Scandinavian football, Tottenham may have an advantage over the South Coast club in the race for Toure.

However, this appears to be a developing story, and one would expect a lot more clubs to enter the race for the teenager’s services over the coming days.
