Tottenham need more help in January transfer window – Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou has once again been asked whether Tottenham Hotspur need to sign more players and he has made it clear where he stands.
Tottenham have some important fixtures coming up
Tottenham have had a busy schedule, often having to play at the weekend and during the week. This is not set to change, with a number of important matches coming up which could define their season.
While every Premier League game matters at the moment, as Spurs attempt to move away from the relegation zone and towards the top half, two huge cup fixtures are approaching. Tottenham will take on Liverpool on February 6 in the Carabao Cup final second leg, before facing Aston Villa in the FA Cup three days later.
Spurs will need as strong a squad as possible but the Tottenham first-team squad is littered with injuries in every area of the pitch.
Ange Postecoglou says his Spurs players need help
Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that Tottenham must strengthen their squad in order to help their exhausted players.
The Aussie head coach has highlighted the fact that Spurs have a number of big fixtures coming up, yet many of his injured players are not set to return immediately.
Speaking in his press conference on the need for further additions, he said: “There’s still no doubt we need to help these players as we’ve still got some significant games before we get these [injured] players back.” (Football London)
Tottenham have only made one January signing
Currently, Antonin Kinsky is the only player Spurs have added to their squad since the January transfer window opened. While he is a useful addition who can cover for the injured Guglielmo Vicario, there are still other positions where Tottenham are short on players.
If Spurs are to secure their first piece of silverware in 17 years, more signings must be made by the end of transfer deadline day because the current players are clearly struggling with their workloads.
