The injury crisis deepens for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, is no stranger to adversity in his second season at the helm, but the Australian coach now finds himself grappling with a mounting injury crisis that threatens to derail his side’s campaign further.

As the North London club prepared for their last clash against Everton, Postecoglou had to adapt by implementing a 3-4-3 formation—an uncharacteristic tactical tweak designed to cope with the sheer volume of absentees.

This crisis has seen no fewer than eleven first-team players sidelined, leaving the squad stretched and fans concerned about how the team can maintain its consistency.

Among the key absentees is Yves Bissouma. The Malian was said to have picked up a knock in the game against Arsenal.

The manager said:  “Yeah, Brennan and Biss picked up knocks against Arsenal, Biss not too serious.”

Yves Bissouma’s setback: What we know so far

With no timeline appended to his return by Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the latest update on the midfielder’s condition, revealing: “Yves Bissouma has a slight hamstring strain. Awaiting more scan results.”

While the initial report suggests the injury is minor, further assessments will ultimately determine the exact duration of Bissouma’s absence.

What this means for Tottenham’s midfield and their season

Underneath O’Keefe’s post, a fan expressed their frustration with the injury crisis. In response, O’Keefe added: “They do not think it is major—or at least hope. Maybe 2-3 weeks.”

Although Postecoglou has yet to confirm the extent of the injury publicly, the prevailing sentiment among those close to the club is one of cautious optimism.

Bissouma may only miss a handful of matches, but with the fixture schedule ramping up, every game without him could pose a challenge for Tottenham.
