Celtic hope to fend off Tottenham interest in versatile forward

Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs eyeing a move for a 24-year-old forward who has been on fire since the start of the season, but Celtic are hoping to hold onto their star man until the end of the season.

Celtic man is now in Spurs’ sights

The player in question is Nicholas Kuhn, who has been tearing the Scottish Premiership apart since his summer move from Rapid Wien.

The 24-year-old has already found the back of the net 14 times and has laid on another 11 assists, with his displays now attracting interest from south of the border.

It was TEAMtalk who first reported on Tuesday that Spurs are eyeing a move for the winger, while Brentford and Brighton also have ‘serious interest’ in acquiring the player’s services.

TBR Football have now also backed up Spurs‘ interest in Kuhn, suggesting that Ange Postecoglou could raid his former side for the German over the coming weeks.

Interestingly, they add that apart from Brighton and Brentford, the wide-man is also on the radars of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace as the race for his signature heats up.

Despite the attacker’s growing number of suitors, it is revealed that the Scottish giants are hoping to fend off the transfer interest and keep him at Glasgow until the end of the season.

How much would Kuhn cost?

TBR Football point out that Celtic paid only £3m to sign the versatile winger from Rapid Wien in the summer. The Bhoys could treble their fee if they sold the player, which suggests that he is valued at around £9m.

The publication adds that while Brendan Rodgers’ men are keen to hold onto Kuhn, they would find it difficult to reject a ‘sizable offer’ from the Premier League for the player.
