Spurs fans will not believe the crazy thing Josh Keeley did on Sunday
Josh Keeley has already hit the headlines for some of his exploits in the final third this season and what the on-loan Tottenham goalkeeper did on Sunday will leave Spurs fans in disbelief.
Josh Keeley is more than just a goalkeeper
One would usually expect goalkeepers to receive plaudits for the saves they make, but Keeley has demonstrated this season on loan at Leyton Orient that he is not your ordinary goalkeeper.
At the end of November, the 21-year-old hit the headlines for scoring a late equaliser in the FA Cup second-round clash against Oldham Athletic, finding the back of the net with a fine glancing header after coming up for a late corner.
The Spurs man has now followed that up with an assist as Orient came away with a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in a League One clash at the Brick Community Stadium a few weeks ago.
Keeley shows incredible confidence against Cambridge United
As one would expect, confidence is now coursing through the veins of the Irishman, who did something that very few goalkeepers would dare to try on Sunday.
With Orient 2-0 up at home to Cambridge United, the Tottenham man decided to stride forward with the ball, and at one point, he found himself in the right of midfielder, being one of the furthest forward of any of the O’s players.
Orient boss Richie Wellens might have not been too pleased with Keeley’s decision to step out so far forward and might have even given the goalkeeper a telling-off after the full-time whistle, but this piece of action shows how much belief the Spurs youngster now has.
Keeley also continues to impress between the sticks
While Keeley has produced several eye-catching moments going forward, those should not detract from the fact that he has also been terrific between the sticks.
The 21-year-old has proven a reliable pair of hands at the back, having made several impressive saves over recent weeks.
In fact, he set a record in the O’s win over Cambridge on Sunday, becoming the first goalkeeper to keep seven consecutive clean sheets for the League One outfit.
