Man United to battle Spurs for player under contract at Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur have competition to deal with from Manchester United in their pursuit of a young, up-and-coming goalkeeper, who is on the books of one of their Premier League rivals.
Tottenham eyeing move for 22-year-old
Spurs are reportedly on the lookout for a goalkeeper to serve as Guglielmo Vicario‘s understudy and to compete with the Italian, and one man who has reportedly caught their eye is a young shot-stopper who is on the books of their local rivals, Arsenal.
The player in question is Karl Hein, who has impressed on loan at Real Valladolid this season, with Football Insider revealing two weeks ago that Spurs are now plotting a move for the 22-year-old.
However, it has now emerged that Tottenham face competition from one of their Premier League rivals for the young goalkeeper.
Two-way battle for Karl Hein
This update comes from Fichajes, who say that alongside Spurs, Manchester United are also eyeing a move for the on-loan Valladolid man.
Both Premier League sides have allegedly been impressed with the impressive displays that the Arsenal youngster has delivered in Spain.
Spurs and Man Utd both see the Estonia international as an ‘interesting option’, due to his age, his potential and due to the relatively low cost of any transfer operation.
Arsenal’s stance on Hein
Fichajes claim that the Gunners are not opposed to letting Hein leave and would be willing to listen to offers for the goalkeeper in January.
The outlet states that even though the Arsenal academy graduate’s current deal at the Emirates Stadium runs out next summer, Mikel Arteta’s men are expected to demand around €20m-€25m (£16.6m-£20.7m) for his services.
However, this fee is not thought to be an obstacle for either Spurs or Man Utd, with both clubs seeing Hein as a sound investment for the future.
